Victory for Almasa Environmental Solutions at the 2026 Dubai Creek Dragon Boat Event
A Historic Win at the Creek
The waters of the Dubai Creek have long been a symbol of the UAE’s trading heritage, but on January 24th, 2026, they became the stage for a spectacular display of athletic prowess. The Dubai Creek Dragon Boat event brought together a vibrant community of athletes, spectators, and dignitaries for two days of high-octane racing. For the team at Almasa Environmental Solutions, this wasn’t just another competition; it was a moment of peak performance where our commitment to teamwork mirrored our commitment to environmental excellence on the water.
Presented by Hong Kong ETO
Presented by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Dubai, the weekend was a masterclass in international collaboration. The races celebrated the world’s first Hong Kong-style Dubai Creek Dragon Boat competition of the year, setting a prestigious tone for the 2026 season. With the historic waterway providing a stunning backdrop, the atmosphere was electric, blending traditional rhythmic drumming with the modern, multicultural energy that defines the city of Dubai.
Breaking Records in 2026
This year’s edition shattered previous records, showcasing the rapid growth of the sport in the Middle East. With the support of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, the Dubai Creek Dragon Boat races saw a record high 62 teams participating. Most impressively, the event saw participation from all seven emirates of the UAE for the first time in history, making our victory as Almasa Environmental Solutions even more meaningful in such a competitive field.
A Global Gathering of Athletes
The sheer scale of the festival was breathtaking, as the two-day Dubai Creek Dragon Boat event was joined by over 1,500 competitors of different nationalities and backgrounds. This diversity is what makes the sport so unique; it requires perfect synchronicity between people who may speak different languages but share the same goal. We believe that diversity is a strength, and seeing 1,500 paddlers converge at the Creek was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collective effort.
Community and Diplomatic Unity
Beyond the professional teams, the spirit of “unity in diversity” was further exemplified by the Dubai ETO and the Consulate General. They formed joint teams comprising members from the Hong Kong and Chinese communities living in the UAE to participate in the Dubai Creek Dragon Boat races. These teams participated alongside corporate crews like ours, highlighting the deep-rooted friendship between the regions and the local community that calls the UAE home.
The Championship Ceremony
The highlight of the weekend for Almasa Environmental Solutions was, of course, the official awards ceremony following the Dubai Creek Dragon Boat finals. Mr. Simon Chan, Director-General of the Dubai ETO, and the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, Ms. Ou Boqian, jointly presented awards to winners of different categories. Standing on the podium was a moment of immense pride, as our trophy served as a testament to our team’s hard work, grit, and “never-give-up” attitude.
The Road to Hong Kong
The victory during the Dubai Creek Dragon Boat weekend is only the beginning of our journey. During the closing remarks, the best-performing teams were congratulated and officially invited to participate in the international dragon boat races to be held in Hong Kong by the HKTB later this year. As a winning team, Almasa Environmental Solutions is now preparing to take the spirit of the UAE to the global stage, representing our company in the iconic waters of Hong Kong.
Commitment to Excellence
In conclusion, our success at the Dubai Creek Dragon Boat festival reflects the core values we bring to our environmental projects. Just as every paddle stroke must be in perfect harmony to win a race, every solution we provide at Almasa Environmental Solutions is designed with precision and care. We are honored to have been part of this historic UAE event and look forward to many more victories on and off the water in the years to come.
