Greywater Treatment System

Transform greywater into a sustainable resource for residential and commercial applications.

Greywater Treatment System – A Smarter Solution for the GCC

In today’s fast-growing urban environment, water reuse has become one of the most essential solutions for saving water, reducing costs, and building a sustainable future. Greywater the used water from showers, kitchen sinks, wash basins, and other household or building sources can be effectively treated and reused instead of being wasted.

With our advanced Monyin® MBR Greywater Treatment Plant (GTP), this water is purified to high-quality standards and safely reused for multiple non-potable purposes such as:

  • Irrigation for landscaping, gardens, and green areas
  • Toilet flushing in apartments, hotels, and community buildings (saving huge amounts of fresh water)
  • Construction activities like concrete mixing and dust control
  • Industrial and commercial cooling towers

Water Quality Parameters (GTP Output)

pH: 6-8

COD: ≤10 ppm

BOD: ≤10 ppm

TSS: ≤5 ppm

Why Greywater Treatment Matters in the GCC

The GCC region faces some of the highest levels of water scarcity in the world, with natural freshwater resources almost non-existent. Growing populations, rapid urbanization, and climate change continue to drive water demand upward, while desalination the primary water source in the GCC is energy-intensive and costly.

By implementing Greywater Treatment Plants, residents, businesses, and industries can:

  • Reduce dependence on desalination and conserve energy resources
  • Cut freshwater demand by up to 50–80% for non-potable uses
  • Meet government sustainability goals, such as UAE’s Net Zero 2050 and Saudi Vision 2030
  • Protect the environment, reducing wastewater discharge into fragile ecosystems
  • Enhance resilience against future water shortages

In short, greywater reuse is no longer optional in the GCC it is a necessity for sustainable growth and survival.

  • Increased property value – sustainable water solutions attract tenants, investors, and customers
  • Compliance-ready – meets GCC municipal and environmental regulations

How the System Works

Greywater is collected from residential or commercial sources and passes through a bar screen to remove larger particles. It then enters an aeration tank where biological treatment occurs, followed by Monyin® MBR membrane filtration that removes fine contaminants. Automatic backwash ensures efficiency and system longevity. The final treated water is stored in a dedicated tank, ready for safe reuse.

Optional RO treatment can be added if higher purity levels are required for sensitive applications.

Applications Across the GCC

  • Toilet flushing in residential communities, hotels, and office buildings
  • Landscaping & gardens in urban developments, resorts, and parks
  • Construction sites for concrete mixing and dust suppression
  • Car wash facilities seeking cost-effective water sources
  • Cooling towers in commercial and industrial plants
  • Labor camps & worker housing where water savings are critical

MBR vs UF Technology Comparison

Choosing the right wastewater treatment technology directly impacts operating cost, maintenance effort, water quality, and long-term reliability. Below is a clear comparison between conventional UF-based systems and our advanced MBR solution.

Parameter Traditional UF-Based System Our MBR-Based System
Technology Configuration UF + RO MBR + RO
Chemical Consumption High (6–8 types of chemicals) Low (2–3 types of chemicals)
Operational Complexity Complex operation with frequent adjustments Simple, stable, and automated operation
Maintenance Requirement Difficult and time-consuming Very easy to maintain
Operating Cost (OPEX) High due to chemicals, fouling, and downtime Low due to reduced chemicals and stable performance
Footprint Requirement Larger footprint Compact footprint (ideal for limited spaces)
Sludge Generation Higher sludge production Lower sludge generation
Treated Water Quality Inconsistent during load variations Consistently high-quality effluent
Compliance Reliability Requires close monitoring to meet standards High compliance reliability with regulations
Overall Cost Efficiency Expensive in the long run Cost-effective over plant lifetime
